THE NATIONAL AGENCY FOR ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND THE JSC"MORTGAGE REFINANCING COMPANY OF UZBEKISTAN" HAVE SIGNED A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING AND COOPERATION.

Today, the National Agency for Energy Efficiency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Company signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation. This document is aimed at introducing energy-efficient technologies in our country and expanding the “Green Renovation” credit mechanisms for the population.

The main goal of the cooperation is to provide institutional and practical support for the “Green Renovation” program, to widely disseminate information to the public about energy-efficient products, and to encourage their use. Within the framework of the Memorandum:

  • A mechanism will be introduced whereby the National Agency for Energy Efficiency will cover the portion of interest rates on “Green Renovation” loans that exceeds 19 percent, but does not surpass a 4-percentage-point band, thereby creating some relief for clients in their loan repayments;
  • Joint information campaigns will be organized to promote energy-saving construction materials, equipment, and technologies;
  • Online and offline information platforms will be created to provide citizens with detailed information about the opportunities offered by “green” loans;
  • Joint working groups will be established to monitor and improve the effectiveness of the program.

This cooperation will contribute to improving the energy efficiency of the housing stock in our country, reducing utility costs for the population, and ensuring environmental sustainability.

According to the leadership of the National Agency for Energy Efficiency, this initiative will not only create favorable conditions for the population, but also contribute to reducing energy consumption and lowering greenhouse gas emissions.

Company representatives, in turn, noted that the “Green Renovation” mechanisms will create new opportunities in the lending market and serve as an impetus for the positive transformation of the banking sector.
