Uzbekistan GEFF Greening Financial Systems Launch and GEFF Awards Ceremony
Representatives of the Company participated in the “Uzbekistan GEFF Greening Financial Systems Launch and GEFF Awards Ceremony” event organized by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Tashkent.
During the event, representatives of government agencies, international financial institutions, donor organizations, and commercial banks discussed expanding green financing, new investment opportunities, and strengthening climate resilience.
As part of the program, the results of GEFF Uzbekistan were presented, an awards ceremony was held to recognize partner banks, and an agreement was signed between the EBRD and Hamkorbank under the GEFF GFS project.
The issues discussed at the forum are of particular importance for the Company in developing green mortgage financing and financing energy-efficient housing, as well as expanding cooperation opportunities with international financial institutions.
For reference: The Company and the EBRD previously signed agreements to attract financing under two credit lines totaling the equivalent of USD 90 million in local currency, without a sovereign guarantee. These funds will be used to refinance mortgage loans issued by commercial banks.
