Strategic Cooperation Agreement signed between UzMRC and the EBRD.

Yesterday, the UzMRC and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) held a key meeting aimed at strengthening their strategic financial cooperation.

The meeting brought together the EBRD delegation, led by George Orlov, Director for Financial Institutions in Central Asia, and representatives of UzMRC headed by Murodjon Farmanov, Chief Executive Officer.

During the meeting, both sides discussed UzMRC’s current activities, funding mechanisms, international cooperation approaches, and the development prospects of the mortgage market. Special attention was given to expanding long-term cooperation between the two institutions.

At the end of the discussions, a formal "Mandate Letter" was signed. Under this agreement, the EBRD expressed interest in considering the provision of a long-term credit line of up to USD 40 million equivalent in local currency to UzMRC. These funds will be used to refinance retail mortgage and renovation loans provided by commercial partner banks, ultimately contributing to improved housing access and enhanced liquidity in Uzbekistan’s mortgage market.
